Dr Jessica Glaser

University of Wolverhampton / Birmingham City University

 

Previously a senior designer in various design consultancies and lecturer in graphic design and typography, Jessica is now an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Wolverhampton and partner in Bright Pink Communication Design. She has published widely on design and typography, and her books include The Graphic Design Exercise Book (Frances Lincoln, 2014). She contributes to conferences and her articles appear within online magazine, Smashing. Jessica’s research reappraises Beatrice Warde, the First Lady of Typography and has contributed an entry on Warde for the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Her chapter on Warde’s anglo-American book exchange, Books Across the Sea, is part of Women In Print Volume I (Peter Lang Publishers, 2022).
