The Baskerville Society

An international membership organisation set up to encourage research and to promote public knowledge and understanding of the eighteenth-century typographer, printer, industrialist and Enlightenment figure, John Baskerville. The Society is run by an elected delegate committee, currently chaired by Professor Caroline Archer-Parré.
The Society publishes a quarterly newsletter and holds a variety of events for both members and non-members including a biennial conference. The Society’s first book- ‘John Baskerville: art, industry and technology in the Enlightenment’ – will be published in 2017.
