A Glorious History: Print and paper making trade union in the UK and Ireland by Tony Burke and Ann Field.
This volume brings together the story of print and paper workers’ struggles for workers’ rights and trade union freedoms. The authors have used the resources of the Printworkers Collection, and archive of the print and paper unions housed at the Marx Memorial Library in London. The volume highlights the issues which were common to all sectors of the industry and how, both in co-operation and sometime in competition, trade unionists fought against poverty, injustice, and exploitation. The authors set out the main theme so print and paper worker agitation spanning 250 years in an introductory overview leading the reader to chapters on specific issues and trade union organisation.
