The Printing Historical Society

The Printing Historical Society [PHS] seeks a Treasurer to join the Committee. This is an essential role which supports the continued life of the PHS.

The Treasurer's role is to oversee the outgoing payments from the Society and to report the financial position of the Society at quarterly meetings.

Tasks include

  • Throughout the year, authorise payments to suppliers and grants recipients using online banking tools

  • Attend quarterly committee meetings, bringing reports of the Society's outgoings and current balances

  • Annually submit materials to a professional accountant who prepares the accounts which the Society reports to the Charity Commission

Membership income is separately handled by the Membership Secretary.

Essential skills: 

  • Ability to use online banking websites and apps

  • Familiarity with basic tools for budgeting

  • Ability to express financial information clearly
