The British Museum of Printing [BMoP] is a digital platform for all collection holders, museums and educational institutions that collect, preserve and interpret objects and archival material relating to printing history and culture. BMoP aims to offer a high quality visitor experience in a digital form and connect collection holders including curatorial and academic staff to each other.
The purpose of the museum will be to bring as much of the nation’s printing-historical resources as possible together in one virtual site; to educate and interact with the public; to provide a resource for the scholar; to explain and help to preserve this aspect of the nation’s heritage which comprises machinery, equipment and archives; to inspire good design; to support education and training for the public and the printing and design communities; to create an immersive virtual museum experience with links to physical collections and collection holders.
